Twit twooo! Come rain or shine, Hootz House is the perfect indoor escape for little chicks to climb, slide, and let their imaginations soar. With rope bridges, snaking slides, and tree-top towers to explore, it’s a nature-themed play space inspired by the wildlife of Pensthorpe; and built for big adventures.

Go owl-out in our thrilling, nature-themed indoor play barn! Entry to Hootz House is included with your Pensthorpe ticket, but we recommend booking a time slot in advance – it can get busy, and we want everyone to have plenty of space to spread their wings.
To keep play fun (and safe!), socks must be worn at all times, and we recommend full-length clothing for those swooping down the slides. Before you visit, take a moment to read up on our safety guidelines and what to wear here
Pre-bookable time slots help keep things calm and comfortable, with limited numbers per session. When booking your general admission, choose one of the following Hootz House play times:

Curly Slide – A super-fast twisty ride for thrill-seekers

Owlet Zone – A soft play area just for under-3s, perfect for little chicks

And don’t miss our Messy Mornings, every Monday to Friday during term time from 10am–12 noon (open from 9:30am for members) – perfect for curious hands and sensory fun.
Perch and Peck
All that adventure can tucker out even the wildest thing. Not to worry! There’s a small café inside Hootz House selling teas, coffees, slushies and a selection of eats and treats, including sausage rolls. Come here to relax, refuel and then head back out there.
