Camping and Glamping
Pensthorpe opened up a pop-up glamping and camping site in July 2024 until the end of August 2024, and are extremely pleased to advise after such success we are offering it every summer in July & August.
There are 20 grassed tent pitches available to pre-book, plus eight high-quality bell-style tents intended for a more luxurious glamping experience.
The spacious bell tents house a double bed, two single beds and are decorated with twinkling fairy lights, and other creature comforts and come with a battery pack for the duration of your stay.
Arrivals & Departures
- Arrive Tuesday evening between 5 – 7pm and leave Thursday by 5pm, you can add 1 additional night taking you to Friday, where you will need to have vacated your pitch by 11am.
- Or, arrive Friday evening between 5 – 7pm and leave Sunday by 5pm, you can add 1 additional night taking you to Monday, where you will need to have vacated your pitch by 11am,
We now offer after-hours access to our indoor and outdoor play areas on 1 of your nights until 8pm (either Wednesday or Saturday) included in your price. Note; this is included with Glamping, camping doesn’t include entry to our reserve, so will only be included if you purchase our discounted park entry tickets.
The Options
Bell tents
Get all the creature comforts with our bell tents. Each canvas bell tent includes one comfy double bed, and 2 single bed, and sleeps 4 guests as standard, though you can add up to 2 more. Plus larger battery pack to power the essentials, twinkling fairy lights, bunting, coffee table, and 4 mugs. They are in 12m x 10m spacious pitches positioned to have the perfect view of sunset and sunrise over our adjacent fields.
Glamping also includes access to the reserve for the duration of your stay for up to 4 people, worth up to £140
Tent Grassed Pitches
Pitch up in a spacious 10m x 10m space with your own tent, have up to 6 people as standard – you can add a further 2 guests when booking
We’ve held our 2025 prices for the 2026 season.
Please note camping pitches do not include access to our reserve and park (and after hours play), but you can add that to your booking at a 50% reduction on our usual entry price
Facilities
The Roost
New in 2025 is our communal kitchen, here you will find a larder fridge and freezer to store your essentials, plus microwave, kettles and pot washing, it’s the perfect facility to enhance your camping stays
The toilets & showers
Our self contained shower rooms have a sink, toilet, and shower in one unit, providing an exceptionally clean area with hot running water, and mains connected loos.
Communal Area
A huge mown 60 metre x 30 metre recreational area with picnic benches, dog water, and space for families to meet up and enjoy the day
The site
Our huge campsite isn’t packed with pitches, each pitch is a minimum of 15 metres away from the next, grass is left long with mown connecting paths to create a really beautiful natural site.
Prices for tent pitches start from £30 a night and glamping starts from £130 per night – all stays are a minimum of 2 nights, you can add an extra night too, if you wish
Book camping or glamping with just a 25% deposit and the final balance payable 4 weeks before you stay.
Members receive 10% off Camping or Glamping bookings (but not any extras, or the extra night) as long as you are logged into your account, the discount will automatically apply at checkout.

Our Courtyard Café is open after hours for campers and glampers to enjoy delicious pizzas or scrumptious loaded fries!
The site
Here is our 2026 camping and site map, showing where the camping facilities are in relation to the rest of our site. We have mains connected lovely toilets and showers, plus ‘The Roost’ our communal kitchen with: communal fridge, freezer, pot washing area, microwave and kettles.
Our lovely site has long grass and circular mown pitches Bell tents are positioned for the best view of the sunrise and sunset, and have a larger pitch space.
We have also added in a central recreational and eating area for our campers and glampers, which is 60 metres long x 30 metres wide.
If you decide to add entry to the reserve to your camping pitch (or if booking glamping it is included) you can also enjoy daytime access to our reserve with 4 walking routes, 5 gardens, Sculptures, huge indoor play, colossal outdoor play, Flamingos, Cranes, den building and so much more! Plus after hours access to our Indoor and outdoor play on either the Wednesday or Saturday evening of your stay with us.

Of course, this shouldn’t be a problem, when you confirm your booking/bookings, please just reply to your booking confirmation email letting us know you would like your pitch next to another booking, and share their details, and we will put a note on your booking, and endeavor to place you as close as possible.
Your 25% deposit is non refundable to secure your booking. No refund on any additional payments will be issued if cancellation is made within 21 days or less from when your holiday commences. If you cancel your holiday more than 21 days in advance and you have paid above the deposit, we will refund your monies paid, less the deposit.
We do have mains-connected showers, toilets, pot washing sink, a communal fridge and freezer for us, but the pitches themselves do not have electricity. Bell tents come with a robust battery pack which will last the duration of your stay for charging, plus fairy lights inside.
You can however always visit our cafe between 8 – 5 to charge phones if necessary.
We are afraid not, either standard bring your own tent, or stay in one of our bell tents.
Each tent pitch is 10m x 10m with plenty of space between the next. Bell tent pitches are 12m x 10m
Our bell tents come with one double and 2 single beds, at checkout online you can add 2 more people, but beds will not be available for the extra guests.
Online at checkout you can add a further 2 people to your camping pitch, but this is the maximum and they must be within one tent.
The price per pitch or bell tent gives you a number of guests you can go up to, but you are welcome to have less, but the price remains the same.
You can use disposable BBQ’s or small gas cooking stoves on the campsite – this is subject to change if there is a prolonged period of drought or dry weather, we will try and advise you in advance of this.
We have a range of fire pits available for hire from your camping host, we also sell fuel logs and kindling.
Disposable BBQ’s and gas camping stoves must be used on slabs, these can be picked up from the Camping host and be at the edge of your pitch, well away from your tent.
Open fires are not permitted.
Please don’t break off branches or collect wood from around the site to use in your bbq or fire pit. Only Kindling and logs purchased from Pensthorpe can be used, for the safety of our guests.

Dogs are permitted onto the camping field if you are booking a tent pitch, with no more than two dogs per pitch, but unfortunately dogs are not permitted with glamping bookings.
Dogs MUST BE ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES.
Please note that although the campsite is dog friendly, dogs are not able to enter the nature reserve, if you decide to upgrade and enter the nature reserve your dog must not be left on their own at any times.

If you have booked a glamping pitch your booking entitles up to 4 people access to the Nature reserve and indoor play during your stay. If you have booked a tent grassed pitch these do not as standard include access to the reserve and play, but you can add admission tickets for your stay for £17.95pp for 2 day entry (a 50% reduction on our usual standard admission price).
Yes
The campsite is car free for the comfort of all our guests, we will have barrows available to help take your items to your pitch for loading and unloading.
We are opening the indoor play and outdoor play one evening of your stay until 8pm, either Wednesday or Saturday, note this is for glampers, and campers who have added reserve entry. We can’t open the reserve after hours for your safety.
On your arrival day our cafe is open until 8pm serving Pizza, drinks and snacks until 7:45pm, on the second day of your visit our cafe opens at 8:30am especially for campers, until 5pm.
There are lots of local pubs, restaurants and takeaway options in Fakenham and surrounding areas. We are happy to provide you with a list prior to your visit.
To secure your booking we ask for a 25% deposit, and final balance paid no later than 4 weeks before your booking. If you book within 4 weeks of your booking date, the balance will be required at the time of booking
No, when you are staying with us as a glamper, or have reserve entry as a camper, you don’t need to prebook the evening sessions for Hootz House indoor play.
