Immerse the next generation in the natural world and be inspired by the wonderful wildlife it contains. Offering an unrivalled range of diverse habitats, the park provides the perfect environment in which to learn.

Education Packages

Our education packages will make good use of the park by combining short indoor activities, both in our Discovery Centre and purpose built classroom-sized hide, with plenty of outdoor exploring.  The ‘Discover’ activities have been produced using the national curriculum as a guideline whilst appreciating the need for practical, hands-on interactions to stimulate learning. Some activities have their own activity sheets which is completed during the visit and retained by the pupils for future reference.

We offer led visits with the discover sessions listed below but if you wish to discover the park with your own educational focus we also offer a self-led visit too.

  • Led Visits Priced at £8.50 per student
  • Self Led Visits Priced at £7.50 per student
  • 1 free adult per 5 paying students
  • Any extra adults are charged at the student rate so long as the number of students are above 12 (£8.50 led & £7.50 self led)
  • If any of the students require 1:1, then their adult would go free as a registered carer (detailed on the booking form)
  • Each educational booking entitles 2 adults to a complimentary pre-visit inspection
  • To qualify for our education rates, bookings must have a minimum of 12 paying students.
  • Less than 12 students and tickets will be charged at the current standard admission rate.

Educational visits are going to have a new home!
We are currently creating a brand new discovery centre that we can’t wait to show you. Work is underway to create a space that educates and inspires.
We are also expanding our provision and would love to welcome more home educator, high schools, colleges, and universities to Pensthorpe and can offer a tailored package to suit your educational focus. We also have new activity trolleys on the way, winter activities, plenary packs and gift bags ahead of the new academic year.

Let us help you plan your day

We want you and your pupils to get the most out of a visit to Pensthorpe. To help you plan your day, we offer complimentary tickets for two teachers to come and get to know the park and its facilities. Whilst you are here, we could arrange for you to meet a member of our team to talk about the ‘Discover’ activities and prepare a visit schedule. We can provide bespoke educational sessions for Primary, High School and even Sixth Forms.
