This Easter holiday, young explorers are invited to discover the magic of the season on Pensthorpe’s Spring Safari Nature Trail, running from 7th – 13th April.
Spring is one of the most exciting times in nature, with wildlife emerging, plants beginning to bloom and the reserve coming alive with colour and activity. Our Spring Safari trail invites children and families to explore the reserve and uncover the fascinating changes happening in nature at this special time of year.
On arrival, explorers will receive their Spring Safari handout before setting off across the reserve to find a series of trail boards filled with fascinating facts, interactive challenges and seasonal discoveries.
To help adventurers look a little closer, every paying child (over the age of 3) will receive their very own magnifying glass, perfect for investigating the tiny wonders of spring – from insects and minibeasts to plants and natural textures along the trail. The magnifying glass is theirs to keep so the adventure can continue at home.

As well as exploring the trail, visitors during this special week will also be able to experience Pensthorpe’s brand-new outdoor play area, opening just in time for the Easter holidays. It’s the perfect place for children to climb, explore and continue their adventure after completing the safari.
Alongside the trail and new play, families can also enjoy everything else Pensthorpe has to offer, including meeting our magnificent flamingos and cranes, exploring the reserve’s beautiful landscapes and enjoying indoor fun at Hootz House.
Whether you’re searching for wildlife, learning about springtime nature or simply enjoying a family day outdoors, the Spring Safari Nature Trail is the perfect Easter adventure.
